FAQ
Delon Laboratories is a Canadian B2B contract manufacturer of personal care, beauty, skincare, cosmetic, regulated topical OTC and cotton products. We support established and scaling brands, retailers and distributors with formulation, private-label and custom manufacturing, packaging, quality and regulatory support, warehousing and B2B delivery.
Delon Laboratories is based in Montréal, Canada.
Delon’s roots date to 1914. The current owners acquired the business in 1990 and developed it into the modern B2B contract-manufacturing operation it is today.
Our capabilities include hair and scalp care, face and skincare, body care, hand and nail care, baby and men’s care, deodorants, pet care, regulated topical OTC and health products, and cotton products. We can manufacture SPF products; we do not manufacture or fill aerosols.
Delon’s focus on this website is B2B contract manufacturing and private label. We develop and produce products for customer brands rather than operating a consumer storefront here.
No. Delon is a B2B manufacturer and logistics partner. We do not offer consumer shipping, direct-to-consumer fulfilment or drop shipping, and this website does not include a shop, cart or consumer account.
Yes. We support custom formulation, formula adaptation and private-label programs. Depending on the brief, customers can develop a differentiated formula or work from an existing platform to accelerate commercialization. Feasibility, testing and regulatory requirements are confirmed for each product and destination market.
We can benchmark an existing product and develop toward defined performance, sensory and ingredient targets, subject to intellectual-property, raw-material, testing and regulatory constraints. An exact duplicate cannot be promised until the technical review and development work are complete.
Our usual minimum order starts at 10,000 units per SKU. The exact MOQ depends on the formula, components, decoration, testing and production setup.
Delon is best suited to brands that have market traction and are ready to scale. Because our usual MOQ starts at 10,000 units per SKU, very early concepts may be premature; once demand and forecasts support commercial volumes, we can help scale from development through mass production and B2B delivery.
Plan approximately 6–8 weeks for replenishment orders when forecasts, formula and components are in place. New launches generally require 12–22 weeks, depending on formulation, testing, regulatory work, packaging and component lead times.
Yes. We can support component selection and sourcing, decoration, labels, cartons, cases, kitting and display assembly. Options include PCR materials, plant-fibre packaging, bamboo or wood-based components, mono-material pumps and all-plastic pumps. Every sustainability claim must be confirmed for the selected component and supplier.
Yes. We maintain cosmetic and OTC stability protocols and can coordinate the testing required for the specific formula, package and market. New cosmetic developments are reviewed at 3, 6 and 9 months; OTC programs follow applicable FDA and Health Canada requirements. Exact micro, compatibility, preservation, assay, validation and release testing varies by project.
A typical program moves through commercial and technical intake, feasibility, formulation or formula selection, samples, testing, packaging, regulatory and artwork review, scale-up, production, quality release and B2B logistics. The sequence is tailored to the product, claims, market and service model.
Payment terms are established during commercial qualification and depend on the program, credit review, materials and production requirements. Our team will confirm pricing, deposits and delivery terms in the formal quotation and manufacturing agreement.
Yes. Our demonstrated health and OTC categories include isopropyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, hand sanitizers, petroleum jelly, vaporizing rub, cooling and analgesic gels, analgesic and muscle-relief ointments, and other medicated topical products. Applicable OTC and health products are manufactured in accordance with USP (United States Pharmacopeia) guidelines, and our in-house regulatory team supports NPN, DIN and NDC pathways for these programs. The active, concentration, claims and applicable monograph or licence route are confirmed for each product and destination market before production.
Yes. Our B2B logistics support includes warehousing, inventory release, pick-and-pack, EDI, advance ship notices, invoicing, retailer-specific labelling, cross-dock, returns and delivery to distribution centres, supported by a 95%+ fulfilment rate. Retailer-specific carton, case and pallet labelling, case marking and GS1 barcode application are built to each retailer’s own labelling and delivery requirements, which we review during project qualification. We do not ship to consumers or provide drop shipping.
Yes. Delon manufactures hypochlorous acid in liquid and hydrogel formats for private label and contract manufacturing programs, including facial mists and sprays. Our laboratory handles formulation, pH control, packaging compatibility and stability testing, and our in-house regulatory department supports Canadian and US requirements. HOCl is a demonstrated capability, subject to technical and regulatory review for each program.
Delon operates an ISO 22716:2007-certified cosmetic-GMP quality system. Delon is FDA registered and registered with and licensed by Health Canada as applicable, and supports medical-device, topical OTC/pharmaceutical, NPN, DIN and NDC programs. FDA registration or an NDC listing is not FDA approval. Our headquarters is BOMA BEST certified, and organic certification applies to eligible cotton products through Ecocert—not to our liquid-production operation.
Yes. Delon products are sold in more than 72 countries. We support Canadian, U.S. and other international programs, but the formula, claims, label and documentation must be assessed for each destination market before launch.
Yes. Our in-house regulatory and artwork teams can support formula and label review, product notifications and registrations, specifications and documentation for applicable cosmetic, medical-device, NPN, DIN, NDC and topical OTC pathways. The exact scope is defined during project qualification.
We can develop formulas around defined natural, vegan, cruelty-free or ingredient-exclusion requirements, subject to formula-level substantiation and destination-market rules. Organic certification applies only to eligible cotton products through Ecocert. Our liquid-production operation is not organic certified, and Delon should not be described as USDA Organic certified.
Quality is managed through GMP and ISO 22716 systems, controlled procedures, raw-material and packaging checks, in-process controls, testing, traceability and documented release. Our operations include 18 production lines and more than 150 mixing and holding tanks; product-specific controls and testing are set by formula, claims and market.
Yes. Our in-house regulatory and artwork teams support formula and label review, compliant artwork, documentation, product notifications and registrations for Canadian programs, including English and French label copy. The exact scope for a specific product is defined during project qualification.
We can evaluate packaging options such as post-consumer recycled material, plant-fibre packaging, bamboo and wood-based components, mono-material pumps, all-plastic pumps and labels designed with water-soluble adhesives. Availability and any environmental claim must be confirmed for the exact component, supplier, percentage and finished package selected.
Ingredients and components are sourced against the approved formula, specifications, quality requirements, availability and destination-market rules. Any customer-requested origin, natural, vegan, cruelty-free or sustainability standard must be defined during development and verified for the finished product.
Yes. We can develop formulas around defined ingredient exclusions, including sulfate-free, paraben-free, silicone-free and CMIT/MIT-free requirements. We can also design formulas without animal-derived ingredients when requested. Feasibility depends on performance, preservation, ingredient availability and the destination market, and all related claims must be verified at the formula level.
